The edge of one of the very few large bulrush marshes that still exist in Saginaw Bay.
Many of these marshes were destroyed as the Great Lakes shoreline has been developed by humans.
Great Lakes fringing marshes are immensely important habitat for a myriad of fish, birds, and invertebrates, and are a vital component of the Great Lakes ecosystem.
