I discovered this little Baltimore oriole (Icterus galbula) in the spring of 2006 while walking by a lilac bush
near my home in Southwest Michigan. Apparently, this half grown bird had thought it was strong enough to venture
from the nest. However, I realized that it was not willing to fly again yet. The tiny oriole was content to sit
there munching an insect buffet continuously supplied by its mother.
